Located in Chiang Saen, the Wat Pa Sak temple is surrounded by a forest just on the perimeter of the Chiang Saen city's walls. The trees surrounding the monastery has contributed to its nickname given by the locals, 'The Teak Forest Monastery'. The main features of this temple are the brick and stucco chedi which enshrines a relic from Pataliputra in India. The bigger of the two chedis was built in 1340 by Saen Phu, the founder of Chiang Saen city. Admission prices are 30 Bhat.
