Flowing through the northern section of Thailand, the Ruak River serves as a boundary river between Burma and Thailand as well as Thailand and Laos. The mouth of the Ruak River is located in an area known as the 'Golden Triangle' which is a popular tourist destination. The Golden Triangle is an area where three countries; Thailand, Laos, and Burma are bordering each other in a 200m radius. There are many souvenir and refreshment stalls around the Ruak River's mouth and travelers can take boat cruises along the river.
