Olmara Camp is located in the far eastern plains of the Serengeti, a remote, wildlife-rich pocket at the crossroads of endless grassy plains and woodlands. The camp features eight tented mini-suites nestled within a grove of acacias, overlooking expansive views of the Ngare Nayuki river valley and the plains beyond. Each tented suite has a cosy lounge area with comfortable sofas and a coffee table, a king-sized bed with bedside tables and lamps, a writing desk, a full-length wall mirror, and soft carpets over wooden floors. The suite extends into an en suite bathroom with a shower, double sinks, and a flushing toilet. The camp is open, without barriers or fences, allowing wildlife to move freely. The surrounding area is crossed by meandering rivers and dotted with ancient granite kopjes, offering a dramatic backdrop for walking safaris. Just a short walk from Olmara, you can examine animal tracks and learn to interpret the intricate stories of the bush. Olmara also organises multi-night walking and fly-camping expeditions escorted by professional guides. These trips explore the stunning wilderness north of the camp, where vehicles are not permitted.
Total of eight tented mini-suites with twin, double and triple option. All tents have wooden floors, en suite bathrooms with running water and flush toilets. Three of the tents have a stargazer platform.

The camp is situated on flat ground, with good paths serving all tents. Please let us know if you have clients with mobility issues and we can allocate rooms close to the mess tent.
The dining and lounge area is located in the centre of the camp, the meeting point for exciting stories and meals by the campfire. Share your experiences with friends and family with the satellite Wi-Fi connection. The camp itself is permanently positioned throughout the year. Freshwater is collected from wells within the national park and solar panels provide the electricity for lighting and camp operations. Careful attention on environmentally-friendly water drainage and habitat impact. Each tented suite is spaced for privacy.

Fly camping is an overnight experience that places our guests in the wilderness with a simple camp. It allows us to be immersed in the sounds of the African savannah at night and to appreciate the magnificent African skies. At night we get to enjoy sitting around a campfire where we eat our meals and share stories of our African adventures.
A back-to-basics camp does not mean a lack of comfort. A few luxuries are added by lovely soft duvets and down pillows. Dining is generous and wholesome and served with a cold beer or a cold glass of wine.
A fly-camp experience will take you deep into the wilderness for a night or two, during which we conduct most of our activities on foot; allowing you to experience the bush on an intimate level rather than an observatory one.
We offer guided bush walks - Walking is not strenuous in nature, but reasonable fitness and good mobility are required.
We offer Bush Dinners that allow you to enjoy a delicious dinner in a remote part of the Serengeti, under an infinite ceiling of stars, a camp-fire and kindred spirits sharing stories.
