The most visited point of the Tropic of Capricorn is located in the Namibia Desert, between the little dwelling of Solitaire and the Kuiseb Canyons.  This is the typical travel route between Sossusvlei and the coastal towns of Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. 

The Tropic of Capricorn has the approximate latitude of  23.5 degrees South. This is one of the 5 major circles of latitude and the southernmost point of latitude from where the sun can be seen directly overhead. This point of latitude runs through various other countries such as Brazil, Mozambique and Australia.
