There are two oversized suites in the main house and each is furnished with a large split king bed with an very spacious ante room that can accommodate two extra single beds – perfect additional space for couples or for parents who wish to be close to but not share a bedroom with their children (3-12 years old). Cots for infants are available and will be provided with no extra charge.
The rooms overlook the tropical gardens and have twin sets of French windows that open onto a private fan-cooled balcony for relaxing or dining. There is a generous walk-in wardrobe and an very spacious terrazzo bathroom with large walk-in shower.

This secluded bedroom in the Main House is a large double which also contains an additional child’s bed/day bed. It feels tucked away and opens onto a glorious and very private veranda with a dining table and relaxing armchairs. There is an-suite bathroom with large walk-in shower.
The private veranda looks out over the lush garden at the back of the house and allows for easy wheelchair access.

These are two separate free-standing rooms tucked into the hillside garden overlooking fruit trees and paddy fields. Each room is furnished with split-king beds, a writing desk and wardrobe. The Pool View Room has a small third bed for a child with enclosed garden and outdoor seating. The Paddy View Room is suitable for a couple with a private terrace and private sunbathing area.
Styled with comfort in mind, these two rooms are completely private and have a sheltered walkway to the bathroom of equal size. These bathrooms come with rain showers and twin sinks.

There are three spacious bedrooms in the Garden Villa, all of which have their own veranda. These rooms have high ceilings and multiple sets of French windows onto private furnished verandas for relaxing or dining. Rooms have split-king beds, sitting areas and ensuite bathrooms with rain showers.
Two rooms can be interconnecting, perfect for family groups : A large room which can accommodate two adults and two children, and a slightly smaller room which can accommodate two adults and one child.
The third room has a double bed on the ground floor with an en-suite bathroom and also a mezzanine floor with two singles or a split-double and separate bathroom. This can sleep up to 4 guests.

This in house cooking demonstration, led by Henrietta, will guide you into how to use ingredients and spices to make that perfect Sri Lankan curry. Not only do you get to have a go at making the famous street food ‘Hopper’, but you get to eat what’s been prepared too!
With music, dancers, traditional costumes, fire breathers, tumblers and more, this short event, which is usually arranged to take place prior to dinner, is not to be missed and gives a brief glimpse at the spectacle of Sri Lanka’s dazzling performers and history.

The food at Why House reflects the cosmopolitan tastes of our guests and the team adapt menus to suit their needs. Ingredients are purchased daily to ensure fresh quality produce, and with everything made in house, they pride themselves on their ‘can do’ approach to hospitality. They serve food family-style as much as possible to allow flexibility, and there is a childrens menu available.
Speciality dishes include Lebanese, Thai, Seafood BBQ, Singapore Noodles and for those days where it’s all too much, a roast chicken with roasted potatoes and bread sauce!
