Pigeon Island National Park, located off the coast of Nilaveli near Trincomalee in eastern Sri Lanka, is a protected marine park. Visitors can reach the island by boat and enjoy snorkelling, diving, and other water activities, while also relaxing on sandy beaches. The park consists of two small islands surrounded by coral reefs and was originally declared a sanctuary in 1963 before becoming a national park in 2003. It supports diverse marine life, including reef fish and sea turtles, making it an important conservation area with notable ecological value in the region today.
