Located in al-Karak, Jordan, Kerak Castle is a large Crusader castle which was built under the rule of Pagan and Fulk, King of Jerusalem. The building began in the 1140s and has served as the Administration centre for all of the Jordan regions and a royal treasury for various leaders. The castle has been under seize numerous times over the centuries but today acts as a lively tourist destination as well as home to the Karak Archaeological Museum, which opened in 2004.
