Situated in the far south of the Andaman Sea, Tarutao National Marine Park encompasses an archipelago of 51 islands and constitutes one of Thailand’s most beautiful and unspoilt regions. Visitors can look forward to idyllic white-sand beaches, dense tropical jungle with a wealth of flora and fauna, and temperate azure bays sustaining a veritable riot of marine life. Animal enthusiasts can catch glimpses of boar, civet, mouse deer, hornbill, langur, various raptors, reticulated python and king cobra, and around 100 bird species. The small island of Ko Lipe is the most famous part of Tarutao, and is the only location in the park where long-tail and other speed boats can be arranged to visit some of great destinations on the surrounding islands for diving, snorkelling and other activities.
