The Chobe National Park is the third largest park in Botswana, covering an area of 10,698 km2. The Chobe area is excellent for game-viewing, and has the highest concentration of elephants in the world. Chobe is also famous for its huge herds of buffalo, the Puku Antelope and its rich birdlife. The Chobe River forms Botswana’s northern boundary with Namibia and in the extreme south-west corner it borders on the Moremi Game Reserve.
The Chobe Day Trip will be spent in the area just up from the Chobe River’s confluence with the Zambezi River in the very North East of Botswana. It is regarded as one of the World’s finest wetland areas, with spectacular game and bird viewing, and an incredible diversity of riverine vegetation.
You will be collected at approximately 07h30 (or earlier for larger groups) in the morning and will be transferred to the Kasane Border which will take around 1 hour. Make sure you have your Passport! A Visa Entry Fee may be applicable, and the group will have to pass through the foot and mouth control point.
You will then be transferred in open 4x4 vehicles to the Chobe River where you will spend the morning game viewing from a boat. The morning cruise will end at around 12h30 when you will enjoy lunch at one of the hotels on the riverbank. After lunch, you will then board 4x4 safari vehicles for an afternoon game drive, where you will have the opportunity to experience the abundance of wildlife. After the game drive (approx 16h00), you will be taken back to the Kasane Border to be met by your Zimbabwean Guide for your return transfer to Victoria Falls, arriving at approximately 17h30.
Drinks are included on the boat cruise and game drive. One drink is included at lunch (either a soft drink or mineral water). If you would prefer to start the day with the game drive and end with the boat cruise, this can be arranged.
