Monde Village is a Traditional African Village, located approximately 15 kms from Victoria Falls Town. It is home to the Ndebele and Tonga tribes and their homesteads are scattered throughout the picturesque Monde Valley.
The people of this Village are friendly and welcoming. They are more than happy to show guests their way of living, which remains unchanged for over 100 years. Monde Village is one of the most native and authentic villages still in the region. The Village has over 100 homesteads, a borehole (the only current source of water to the village) as well as a Primary and Secondary School. The school is situated on the side of an ancient Sand Dune with glorious views of the gorges of the Zambezi River.
The Headman of the Village is Mr Mpisi. Mr Mpisi is a highly respected headman in this area and is extremely well spoken and knowledgeable on the culture and history of his people in this area, as well as being known for his traditional healing skills.
