Valle de la Luna, located near San Pedro de Atacama in northern Chile, is a desert landscape within the Cordillera de la Sal characterised by rock, salt, and sand formations. Visitors can follow designated trails, explore viewpoints, cycle through parts of the valley, and observe geological features and sunsets. The site is particularly notable for its terrain shaped over millions of years by erosion and volcanic processes, its extremely dry climate, and its management as part of a protected reserve where access is regulated and visitors must follow conservation guidelines.
