Originally constructed in 1180 as a synagogue in the Jewish quarter of Toledo, Santa María la Blanca is a 12th-century Moorish-style temple that was expropriated and transformed into a church due to the Antisemitic Massacre of 1391 or the Anti-Jewish Revolt of 1391.
