Our adventure begins as we head away from the Cable Station tourist area, towards the top of Platteklip Gorge. From here we leave the central table and make our way towards Echo Valley. Our route leads us further into the Table Mountain National Park, to St Michael’s Peak, with stunning views across the Peninsula far below. From here, our guide takes us to Woodhead Dam and the dramatic Orange Kloof Gorge – the view is fantastic, and this ravine is sanctuary to indigenous trees and fynbos. Next up is De Villiers Dam in surreal moon-like rock formations dotted with aloes and trickling ground water, depending on the season. Our guide will choose the best route to wind all the way back down to Constantia Nek, the finishing point.
