The island of Seram is situated north of Ambon Island in the Seram Sea, Indonesia. Seram has been dubbed the ‘Mother Island’, which is owed to the legend that all life sprang from its mythical peak of Nunusaku. The island's striking landscape features white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters and a wild mountainous interior covered in dense tropical forests alive with birds of paradise. Seram’s highlight is the dramatic Teluk Sawa Bay boasting majestic cliffs, forested peaks and a spectacular crescent bay. Visitors can look forward to an array of outdoor activities including: snorkelling through magnificent coral reefs, boating around the island and exploring the picturesque stilted-hut village of Sawai.
