Located in Thailand’s Golden Triangle, an area which in the past was infamously known as Thailand’s largest opium producing area, the Golden Triangle Park Hall of Opium was created as part of a campaign by various Thai organisations to fight the trade. The museum offers an informative exhibition with information dating back to the known beginnings of the opium trade 5,000 years ago, to the dangers of the drug today and current issues faced due to abuse and addiction. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
