Ndutu Safari Lodge comprises thirty four simple and comfortable stone and thatch en-suite cottages extending from a relaxed central bar and dining area, a meeting place for friends over the past 50 years. Each cottage has a private veranda looking out onto the ever-changing waters of Lake Ndutu. Steeped in history and famous for our homely warmth and generous hospitality, we have built a reputation as consistently being the choice of expert guides, professional wildlife photographers, filmmakers and biologists alike. The reason?
It’s simply the best place in the Serengeti ecosystem to watch and enjoy predators and prey, herds and hunters and is one of the finest locations to witness the extraordinary speed and spectacle of cheetah hunting their prey.
We pride ourselves on doing the simple things well. Wonderfully comfy beds, hot showers, delicious home cooked meals, friendly service and not forgetting our tempting homemade cookie jar! Join us after a full day of wildlife viewing around our famous Ndutu campfire under the stars where you can relax, sharing stories with friends, as the moon rises above the towering acacia trees.
Individual Stone and Thatch Cottage
There are thirty four en-suite cottages at Ndutu which range from double, twins, triples and a quad room and all are built from local materials. The stone and thatch cottages are naturally cool due to the thick walls and they provide simple and comfortable accommodation. Each room has an en- suite bathroom with hot showers, sink and flushing toilet.
Where possible, honeymoon couples will be booked into the largest of these cottages.
All of the cottages have a private veranda overlooking the natural unfenced landscape of indigenous trees and shrubs outside your cottage door ensuring you are never far from the host of birds and mammals who call the Ndutu area home. The cottages extend from a warm and welcoming central dining, seating and bar or ‘mess’ area which has long been a gathering place for friends old and new.
We are gradually updating the cottages at Ndutu safari lodge by raising the roofs and updating the bathrooms. We are also interconnecting some of the cottages to make lovely family units with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so families can be together but separate.
