During the winter months game drives leave earlier in the afternoon than in summer and later in the morning. Viewing is good at any time of the year with each season having its own unique qualities. During the summer months there is an abundance of water around for the animals. This is the time of year that you will be able to see a lot of young animals running around. The impala generally give birth around the time of the first rains along with the wildebeest and other herbivore species. The rivers in front of the lodges will often fill with water and this may make game viewing from the lodge possible with animals coming down to drink at various times throughout the day.

Winter is dry and can make the game viewing slightly easier becuase the bush tends to die down and you can see further into the bush as you drive around. These months also tend to be fairly cold which means your predators are generally more active during the daylight hours. The water points around the area have been closed off so as to allow those areas to regenerate from animal pressure. This means that once again there is a good chance of seeing game in front of the lodge drinking at our waterholes.
