Urbina Bay, located on Isabela Island, emerged in 1954 following a sudden geological uplift that exposed coral heads now deteriorating on dry land. A trail leads through the arid zone, where Galápagos Giant Tortoises and Land Iguanas may be seen. Along the shoreline, colonies of Flightless Cormorants reside. The bay offers opportunities for snorkelling, with sightings of Marine Iguanas feeding underwater and Galápagos Penguins nearby. The area showcases both terrestrial and marine wildlife shaped by dramatic geological change.
