Considered one of the main postcards of Rio de Janeiro, Palácio Quitandinha was inaugurated in 1944 to be the largest casino hotel in Latin America. The space refers to the neo-Norman style, a trend of the great European casinos, being decorated with inspiration from Hollywood scenarios. The construction presents architectural, decorative, technical and functional aspects expressive for the time. Significant national and foreign artistic attractions performed at Quitandinha include Walt Disney, Errol Flynn, Marlene Dietrich, Orson Wells, Lana Turner, Henry Fonda, Juan Domingos Perón and Evita, Emilinha Borba, Grande Otelo, among others.
