The Mitsinjo Reserve, located near Andasibe in eastern Madagascar, is a community-managed rainforest dedicated to conservation, ecotourism, and wildlife protection. At this attraction, visitors can explore lush forest trails, observe lemurs such as the indri, and discover rare amphibians and reptiles. Activities include guided day and night walks, birdwatching, canopy climbing, village tours, and even tree planting as part of reforestation efforts. Notably, the reserve is run by the Mitsinjo Association, a local NGO founded in 1999, which has reforested over 500 hectares and established Madagascar’s first amphibian breeding centre.
