Bundala National Park, situated in the southern province of Sri Lanka and stretching between Kirinda and Hambantota, is a famous bird-watching location, home to nearly 200 species. The exquisite landscapes here encompass wetlands, scrublands, four lagoons, and forests. They are home to five types of marine turtles, crocodiles, the fishing cat, Asian elephants, toque macaque Macaca Sinica, and many more. The park has been given UNESCO status and Ramsar Site for its importance as a migration ground for birds. The magnificent large flocks of flamingos provide a special highlight. There are several safari experiences and guided walks on offer.
