Protea House offers an inviting open-plan lounge area, pantry, its own pool and pool house (31m²/335ft²) as well as a dedicated braai (a truly South African version of a ‘barbecue’) area. The Leeu Collection’s founder, Analjit Singh (aka BAS), is a partner in Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines with Chris and Andrea Mullineux, the team behind these celebrated wines produced on Roundstone Farm in the Swartland appellation and at Leeu Estates in Franschhoek. By 2021, Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines had notched up over 45 five-star ratings from Platter’s South African Wine Guide since its first release in 2008, and was also named the wine guide’s Winery of the Year in 2014, 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2023 – the first winery in South Africa to achieve this accolade five times. Wine Enthusiast, the prestigious US magazine, named Andrea its 2016 Winemaker of the Year.

Indaba – The Meeting Place at Leeu Estates is a state-of-the-art multipurpose event and meeting venue available for all in-house Leeu Collection guests. The light-filled space, with its open roof trusses, tall windows, timber floors and natural finishes, perfectly complements the collection of art and sculptures.
The well-appointed venue can accommodate up to 60 guests (cocktail) both inside and on the terrace overlooking the beautiful valley and mountain landscape for a variety of private parties, exhibitions and product launches.
Press briefings, seminars, business meetings and management think tank sessions for up to 20 guests can be accommodated in boardroom, schoolroom or U-shaped seating. Cinema seating can accommodate up to 60 guests. Indaba, which is 140m2/1 510ft2 in size and has its own lift, boasts audio and video conferencing equipment, a 203-centimetre (80-inch) television screen and high-speed wifi. Catering for Indaba is done by the The Dining Room culinary team.

The in-house dining option at Leeu Estates means resident guests never have to leave the property, if they so desire. From all-day light dining to full à la carte, every dish makes the best of seasonal produce, in keeping with the Leeu Collection ethos. There are several vegan and vegetarian options too. The breakfast menu is comprehensive but also allows guests to tailor their personal preferences for the most important meal of the day. Children have their own menu, which includes spectacular desserts to thrill the little ones.
Guests visiting Leeu Spa and Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines Studio at Leeu Estates are now able to join us for lunch or dinner at The Dining Room.
La Petite Colombe - "little dove" - offers diners the highest level of excellence, from service to exquisite multi-course lunches and dinners sprinkled with touches of whimsy and drama for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. During the day, floor to ceiling glass gives you the feeling of being in the surrounding vineyards.

Visitors looking for an informal fine dining eatery now have the perfect venue in Protégé, featuring stylish casual fare created by a team of talented young chefs headed by Andrew Willemse. The idea with Protégé is to keep it casual and comfortable, hitting all the spots with a refined, flavour-packed approach to casual fine-dining. The kitchen team works with local suppliers to keep the menu as fresh and seasonal as possible. Visitors can choose to dine al fresco or watch the chefs at work in the central show kitchen. Resident guests are invited to take their breakfast here or order in-room dining.
The flavour-packed menu is inspired by the team’s culinary expedition to India, as well as memories of travels through Spain, Japan, Mexico, Denmark and the US, as well as chef Charné Simpson’s own Cape Town family influences. Presented in a home-cooking-style with a refined edge, the experience begins from the moment you sit down, providing an array of delectably curated dishes that showcase the essence of spice (Épice) from around the world.
