The Great Sphinx of Giza is a world renowned statue in Egypt situated on the west bank of the Nile. The largest monolith statue in the world, the Sphinx, with its human head and lion’s body, is 20,22 metres high, 73.5 metres long and 6 metres wide. The general belief is that the statue was built by the ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom between 2558 and 2532 BC.
