Ponta Do Cururu is a long and fine point of sand that forms on the bank of the Tapajós River, very close to the village of Alter do Chão in Brazil. The point offers visitors the opportunity to witness some of the most magical sunsets over the Tapajós River and surrounded by the greenery of the surrounding forests. The point is most easily accessed via boat, however, visitors can also hike along the banks of the Tapajós River to access the point. The point is only accessible during the Amazonian summer season, a period of drought that allows the water level to drop enough to allow access to the point.
