The Agincourt Reef is just one of approximately 2,900 separate reef systems that comprise Australia’s famed Great Barrier Reef. Agincourt is made up of a number of ribbon reefs that run parallel to the Continental Shelf and are collectively considered to be one of the most pristine marine eco-systems in the area. The reefs have at least 16 renowned dive sites including; Point Break, Three Sisters, Horseshoe Reef and the Fish Bowl. Not much of a diver? Don’t despair! At nearby Port Douglas, you can catch a catamaran to Agincourt Reef where you will find a collection of floating viewing decks, restaurants and changing rooms. Despite being miles from the coast, the reef lies just a few feet below the water’s surface providing snorkelers and divers with a spectacular underwater paradise characterised by a kaleidoscope of colourful coral and an astonishing profusion of exotic marine life.
