The National Museum of Ethiopia is situated in Addis Ababa and seeks to provide visitors with an overview of the peoples of Ethiopia and its cultural richness. The museum is home to precious archaeological finds, which include the fossilised remains of early hominids, such as Lucy and the recently added Selam which is estimated to be 3.3 million years old. The museum's exhibitions include objects from medieval periods, artwork, memorabilia and regalia from former rulers, as well as archaeological and paleoanthropological objects.
