The South Luangwa National Park is one of the last great wildlife wonders of the world. It is nine thousand square kilometers (3,475 square miles) of pristine wilderness in Zambia‘s Eastern Province. The South Luangwa has been visited by wildlife enthusiasts from all over the world since its creation as a National Park in 1972. The Luangwa offers a safari experience unmatched by any other destination, allowing year round access, open game viewing vehicles, walking safaris and night game drives.

Our safari guides are of the highest standard, having passed the challenging South Luangwa Guide Exam, and they are ready to show you the incredible diversity of Zambian mammals, both large and small, as well as our trees, birds, insects, tracks, spoor and even fish if you ask them to!! Once the Park is closed, the team at camp are ready to make sure the rest of your stay is as good as the game-viewing - there is an a la carte restaurant at camp which allows guests to choose when they would like to have their meals and offers a mixed menu of dishes to suit all dietary needs and appetites! There is a pool on the river bank where you can further relax and enjoy more of the scenic beauty of this riverine habitat. You may have to move if the elephant decide it's time for a drink, otherwise, just enjoy! Guests in the Treehouse are driven up to the main area of camp due to the possibility of big game around the house.

The Jackal-Berry tree house is a special part of the accommodation offered at Flatdogs Camp. The tree house is built around three live African ebony trees with unspoilt views out across a dambo and lagoon system which is regularly visited by elephant and giraffe.

The Tree house has three main decks which are around eight feet off the ground with wooden stairways to reach the spacious sitting area and open-plan bedrooms. Each bedroom has open air en suite bathroom facilities. Guests at the tree house are provided with a hand-held radio, as the secluded nature of the house means that a vehicle is needed to transport you up and down from the main camp. Four adults sharing the Treehouse are guaranteed a private vehicle and safari guide.

Activities on offer are year round walking safaris and day and night game drives.
