Built in 1425 by the powerful McNamara family, the Bunratty Castle & Folk Park is a medieval castle that was restored in 1954 to its former medieval grandeur with 15th and 16th-century furnishings, tapestries, and artwork. It is recognised as the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland. Guests can view the 15th century Bunratty Castle, take in the sights of the 19th century Bunratty Folk Park and the Village Street. In the evening, the castle hosts a medieval-themed banquet with live entertainment.
