Providing self-catering two-room units, the lodge also has a restaurant and pub, as well as conference and event facilities. Owned by the local Mutele community, Awelani is set in a 1700 ha Eco-Park, where visitors can go on nature walks to see small animals and birds; enjoy the magnificent conservancy, with beautiful baobabs, Mopani and Rock-fig trees (to name a few) and view the local Bushmen paintings. Awelani is ideally situated for day visitors to Kruger's northern section - only 12km away from the Pafuri gate, cross-border travellers and those visiting the northern parts of Limpopo.

The Awelani Conservatory is an ideal opportunity for guests to go for a walk, a hike, or take their bicycles out for a spin through diverse areas of flora endemic to Limpopo
Only 12km away from the Kruger Pafuri region, Awelani can serve as an excellent base camp if you want to go view that section of the Kruger
With a purpose-built bird hide situated near a year-round waterhole, bird watching is a very accessible choice. Given that there are in excess of 700 species in the Pafuri region, this is a good spot to sit and watch.
Makuya Reserve is within range for a day-trip. It is a reserve attached to Krugar that allows self-drives, however is only really appropriate for 4x4s.
If you want to visit the hot springs, they're within an easy day-trip from Awelani.
If with a group, activities can be organised with the local communities. Optional activities include dancing, crafting and sharing a meal with the local families.
