Lion’s Head is a landmark peak next to Table Mountain rising up from the centre of the city. To reach the top, the hike leads around the peak so you’ll have superb all-round views as you climb. It takes about half an hour to reach the first view point, and then you continue to the summit using chains and ladders. Another half hour or so will find you at the top, and getting down is a quick and easy twenty minutes. It’s a great bit of exercise with plenty of rewards, and many locals do this hike before work to catch the sunrise.
