Ulusaba is Sir Richard Branson's Private Game Reserve located in the Western sector of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve and forms part of Virgin Limited Edition.
Cliff Lodge is located a short walk from the Main House at Rock Lodge and features two magnificent suites offering guests the ultimate in safari luxury. Ideal for families and friends seeking an exclusive getaway, or couples wanting to enjoy those special occasions in pure privacy.
When booked exclusively, Cliff Lodge includes a private chef as well as your own game drive vehicle. Facilities also include a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gym and mini Aroma Boma Spa.
Ulusaba, meaning 'Place of Little Fear' strikes the perfect balance between nature and nurture - as well as being an excellent place to observe the 'Big Five', it is also an ideal place to kick back and unwind. Ulusaba re-defines the rules of a safari lodge and taken a step away from the traditional colonial style by offering swimming pools, gymnasiums, a wine cellar, Aroma Boma spas with panoramic views, a Bush Observatory perfect for star gazing and tennis courts. With all of these facilities, you really need to plan your days so you can enjoy safari walks, moon-lit bush dinners and of course, the twice daily game drives.
Cliff Lodge 1 is approximately 330m²
It is a spacious 2 bedroom suite with one large bedroom (with two small pull out beds) and a second smaller bedroom which can accommodate one adult or two small children. Features private swimming pool, private bar, iPod docking station, spa, gym, satellite TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, Wii and fireplace as well as an outdoor barbecue. Access via a raised walkway from the Main House.
Cliff Lodge 1 has a King Size beds (that cannot split into Twins), air conditioning, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. All rooms supplied with bottled water, spray-on insect repellent, Africology toiletries, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers.
When hiring Cliff Lodge Suites 1 and 2 exclusively rates include private game drive vehicle and chef. Available individually 4 months prior to guest arrival. Maximum occupancy is 3 adults and 2 children.
Cliff Lodge 2 is approximately 120m²
Cliff Lodge 2 is a spacious one bedroom suite with two small pull out beds that can accommodate two small children. Includes large lounge area with satellite TV, iPod docking station, complimentary Wi-Fi, fireplace and a Jacuzzi on the viewing deck. Access via a raised walkway from the Main House. Available individually 4 months prior to guest arrival. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults and 2 children.

Cliff Lodge is the perfect space for family and friends to get together. Cliff Lodge when hired as a unit can accommodate up to 5 adults and 4 children, a total of 9 guests.
Guests will also receive their own 4x4 vehicle with their own Ranger and Tracker and their own chef. Their is a small spa treatment room for spa treatments, a gym, swimming pool and Jacuzzi.

The Aroma Boma at Ulusaba is the perfect antidote to all the excitement of being out on the game
drives. Book in for a relaxing treatment, from facial rituals to massage to essential grooming.
The Aroma Boma at Rock Lodge is located 800 feet above the African Savannah with truly stunning views over the Bush and offers complete privacy.
Ulusaba uses a range of products from ‘Africology’. ‘Africology’ prides itself on its African roots, taking inspiration from home and using local active ingredients including Rooibos, Aloe, Marula and African Potato. Spa treatment are available for an additional charge.
Should guests prefer to stay at Cliff Lodge, the spa therapist will be delighted to come up to the Lodge and conduct treatments in the small treatment room at Cliff Lodge.
There is a wine cellar at Rock Lodge which offers a comfortable location to enjoy a night of wine tasting.
Guests can enjoy a star gazing evening as part of their game viewing experience at our observatory in the Bush. Our Rangers will teach all about the constellations you can see from points in the southern hemisphere!
The daily Safari walk usually commences after breakfast. This is a fascinating activity as it allows
you to observe the smaller animals that you would usually not see while out on the game vehicles. Our knowledgeable Rangers and Trackers will enthral you with stories about the medicinal properties of plants, local beliefs regarding the wildlife and fascinating facts.
Fancy a spot of tennis? We have two floodlit tennis courts for you to play on during your stay. Don’t worry about tennis racquets and tennis balls - we have everything you need as well as a fully stocked bar!
There are two outdoor pools – one at each lodge, as well as a Private swimming pool at Cliff Lodge and these are solar heated in the winter months (May to September).
There is a private Gym situated at Cliff Lodge as well as gymnasiums situated at both Rock Lodge and Safari Lodge, available for guests to use 24 hours a day.
The Community Tours and Excursions are organized by Pride ‘n Purpose, Ulusaba’s charitable
arm. The basic philosophy behind its work is the principle of empowering people to help themselves while promoting sustainable development.

The Day in a Life village tour looks into some of the charitable projects and schemes Ulusaba is actively involved with. We tailor this tour’s itinerary according to your interests.

The It’s Child’s Play tour has more hands on activities. You will have the opportunity to share your skills and teach children anything from new songs to the school numbers and alphabet.
• Justicia Village Tour:
The Justicia Village tour has more of a cultural emphasis
All of Pride’n Purposes’s expenses are funded by Ulusaba and Virgin Unite, the group’s entrepreneurial foundation, so 100% of donations can be put into the much needed projects to
improve living conditions for the local population. All money raised through those tours goes to the
local communities.
Canyons, Cultures and Contrasts
A day out on the famed ‘Panorama Route’ along the Drakensberg Escarpment: this tour features
visits to the Victorian Town of Pilgrims Rest, the infamous Robber’s Grave, Blyde River Canyon, The
Three Rondavels, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Lisbon Waterfalls. You’ll get up close
and personal with some of the region’s natural beauty, and we’ll tell you about the history of the
area’s hardy pioneers. Lunch is enjoyed at Harries Original Pancake Restaurant in Graskop, where
sweet, freshly prepared, pancakes and fresh salads and other country fare are served.
This is a full day excursion.
Cascades and Canyons Spectacular
Take an exhilarating helicopter flight that swoops over deep and mysterious gorges and through
lush valleys bursting with vegetation and colour. Linger above cascading waterfalls for some
brilliant photo opportunities. The flight will continue to God’s Window, which offers awesome panoramic views of the bushveld below. Then it’s on to the fascinating and dramatic rock
formations of the 1 000-metre-deep, 30-kilometrelong Blyde River Canyon, (the third deepest and
greenest Canyon in the World). You will have a bird’s eye view of the curious Three Rondavels!
We will then land at a site with magnificent views of the Mpumalanga Lowveld, while you tuck into a delicious picnic.

At Ulusaba dining is a very important part of your stay, and our chefs work hard from morning until night to provide the freshest and tastiest meals possible. All meals and drinks are included in your rates, and with at least six opportunities per day to eat, we promise you won’t go hungry!
Our internationally renowned chefs have developed numerous pan-African dishes influenced by many African cultures, flavours and spices. Our recipes are constantly refreshed and consist of seasonal, local ingredients.
Whether dining under the African sky, in the Boma, on a deck or in the dining room, our menus and meals promise to be exciting, social and inspirational. All our breads and pastries are home baked daily and we also cater for private meals and special occasions.
