Citadelle of Québec, perched atop Cap Diamant in Old Québec City, is a striking star-shaped fortress and active military base. Visitors can explore its rich heritage through guided tours, museum exhibits, and panoramic views of the St. Lawrence River. Notably, it is home to the Royal 22e Régiment—the only French-speaking regiment in the Canadian Armed Forces—and features the traditional noon-day cannon shot, a practice dating back to 1871. This National Historic Site also serves as the Governor General’s official residence in Québec and forms part of the UNESCO-listed Historic District of Old Québec.
