Steam rises from mineral-rich waters against a backdrop of rugged sandstone cliffs and fynbos-covered slopes. Located in the Little Karoo, these thermal springs have drawn visitors for centuries, first used by the indigenous Khoisan for their reputed healing properties. European settlers later developed the area, transforming it into a retreat where weary travellers could soothe aching muscles. Today, visitors find a modern wellness resort with a variety of pools, some naturally heated to over 40°C. Walking trails wind through the surrounding nature reserve, leading to scenic viewpoints and encounters with dassies and birdlife. Families enjoy picnic areas, while spa treatments provide deeper relaxation. The town nearby, with its Cape Dutch architecture and fruit orchards, adds to the experience, offering farm stalls and wine tastings.
