Nayasura Camp | Laikipia

The local Laikipia Masai call these rocks Nayasura and stone chippings suggest that they have been used as a camp for millennia. This camp location is used for mobile tented camping and is therefore not a permanent camp. The Nayasura rocks will be used as for refreshing lunch and short afternoon rest in our classic roomy safari tents. When the day cools off, guests can head out on a walk looking for game and getting a feel for the country. As the sun begins to set we will find yourselves at the crest of Nayasura with drinks and bitings, looking for wildlife below and watching the baboons come back to roost on the face of the rock. Back at camp after a hot shower and drinks around the fire you will have a sit down dinner under the stars.

Nyarara Camp | Laikipia

Nyarara means cheetah in Masai and the camp was given this name because of a large male that has been seen in the area. This camp location is used for mobile tented camping and is therefore not a permanent camp. Here guests will walk across large plains as well as mixed bush to get to this location, along the way guests will be looking for herds of Common and Grevy’s zebra, oryx and Grant’s gazelle, which predominate on the large plains. In the mixed bush there are also Dik Diks, Gerenuk, Impala and Lesser Kudu if you are lucky enough to see them. The pack camels with the camp will have taken a more direct route from the previous camp location and will have arrived and set up the camp before your arrival.

Ewaso Ngiro River | Samburu National Reserve

The perennial Ewaso Ngiro (or Uaso Nyiro) is the life blood of arid northern Kenya’s renowned game viewing areas. Ewaso means river and Ngiro brown. Fed by waters from the Kenyan highlands, including the glaciers of Mount Kenya, the Ngiro River flows into the almost mystical Lorian Swamp.

Karisia Tumaren Camp | Laikipia

Tumaren Camp is perfectly situated on the edge of a wide sweeping plain with panoramic views dotted with the iconic acacia tree. To the south, the landscape is defined by granitic inselbergs, rising up like islands on the savanna.

The grasslands are rich with wildlife, easily slip away the hours watching animals wander by or photograph the huge variety of birds coming to the bird bath in front of the sitting room.

The activities are endless, whatever your energy level, there's an option to suit you. Go on guided walks, camel rides, rock climbing, picnics, visit the local markets, school and homes or relax on a game drive should you wish.
For those feeling very active, you have the option of jogging escorted (where else in the world) or pedal out on a mountain ride bike like no other. The 20 metre lap pool looks out across the open plains and has a funky bar for those wanting a cocktail as the sun goes down.
