Situated on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater itself, this huge public campsite is in an undeniably spectacular location, but with pitches for at least two hundred tents, camping here can have a definite festival feel. A quality wilderness experience this certainly is not.
Having said that , it is perhaps the best location in the Northern Parks for spotting bush pigs, we opened out tent one morning to find one looking us right in the eye!
