It's impressive with magnificent flower arrangements and log fires burning.

Guests are accommodated in luxuriously appointed suites decorated with fine French antiques, exquisite Persian carpets and an eclectic mix of objets d'art. Each one is unique but all have their charms.

Outside are magnificent views of the surrounding vineyards, lovely swimming pool in the garden, Provencal garden; inside a private library, small gym and beauty room.

Service is a key component at La Residence. The in house chef creates wonderful dishes and a chauffeur is on hand for complimentary transfers into the village. You can book La Residence on a BB or a Full Board basis.

A new addition at La Residence are the Villas, situated only a few minutes from the hotel. The villas are perfect for families or friends wanting privacy at the same time as the La Residence experience. There are five villas varying from studios to three bedrooms and you can take them on a BB basis or on a Full Board basis. The décor is very similar to La Residence with the same sense of style, colour, furnishings etc. Some have their own swimming pools.

Londolozi Pioneer Camp | Londolozi Game Reserve

Londolozi Pioneer Camp, in the Sabi Sands, offers three exquisite suites where the raw splendour of the bush perfectly blends with luxurious accommodation. This is the most secluded of the Londolozi camps. Set amongst the dappled shade of 500 year old ebony trees, the three luxury suites are perched on a rise with elevated views over the bush.

It is also the most versatile of the camps. Its romantic suites are perfect for honeymoon couples and private getaways. Alternatively the suites can be converted into the ultimate exclusive use ‘bush home’ for a large family group of up to six adults and six children.

The spacious entrance-halls, are decorated with a Ralph Lauren feel. Clean lines, modern and sophisticated with floor to ceiling glass sliding panels which frame the wilderness views beyond.

Each suite has an elegant bedroom/sitting room with fireplace and a luxurious bathroom combining a classic Victorian feel with modern accents in marble and chrome. Your private veranda with plunge pool and sala is the perfect spot to relax with a book, or just enjoy the smells, sights and sounds of the surrounding bush.

However linking glass sky walkways convert these individual suites into inter-connected family units if you are taking it as a family bush home. Everything about Pioneer Camp is deeply personal and provides a romantic backdrop to the adventures of a new generation of sophisticated travellers.

The generous main living areas have a comfortable bush home feel with a pervading sense of history in keeping with the camp’s intimate feel with antiques, welcoming sofas and a wealth of memorabilia of photographs, silver, crystal and even old gramophones. There’s an interactive open plan kitchen so that you can watch the chef cook up a storm as you relax with a pre-dinner drink.

Steps lead down from these guest areas to the pool deck with the inviting lap pool and great river views as you swim off your delicious lunch. The intimate boma is the setting for elaborate lamp-lit dinners.

Londolozi Pioneer Camp has also recognised that ecotourism is only viable if it involves the inclusion of the communities living in and around the Reserve. As well as morning and afternoon game drives with professional rangers and Shangaan trackers, you can also enjoy interpretative walks through the staff village, with visits to the school and the community crafts centre. Dramatic bush breakfasts, sundowners and dinner banquets are regularly hosted by the staff of Londolozi Pioneer Camp at various scenic wilderness locations on the Reserve.
