Osunyai Lamarkau Tarangire | Tarangire National Park

Osunyai Lamarkau sits facing the rising sun on the edge of the wilderness zone, affording stunning game viewing by 4WD or on foot accompanied by an armed Ranger. Night game drives are also available, as are small ‘fly camp’ overnight sleep outs for the more adventurous.

Due to the location of Osunyai Lamarkau and the sunrise setting, the camp affords a glimpse of true exclusivity-the last true luxury in travel. With only 16 beds and an occupancy that caters for either 2 small groups only or a larger group on an exclusive basis, the feel of Osunyai Lamakau is deliberately one of privacy. Add in the location on the edge of the wilderness zone within Tarangire-far from the main circuit, Osunyai Lamarkau is, without a doubt the most remote of any accommodations within the park.

Close by, the Masai live a traditional lifestyle pre dating the national park and cultural visits can be arranged for anyone interested in seeing how these warrior tribes live their daily lives. Visits are not intended to be a set show, more an exchange of interest between our guests and whomever is in the dwelling at the time of the visit.

Kisima Ngeda Camp | Lake Eyasi

Set in a thick stand of doum palm and fever tree forest on a 100-hectare farm, Kisima Ngeda camp overlooks the seasonal lake Eyasi. An inviting natural spring boils out of the rocks just meters away from the mess area. To the back, a rocky granite hill forms a dramatic backdrop to the camp. Many come here to simply relax in a quiet, remote, and beautiful setting.

The Lodge:
The main area is built with beautiful wooden floors and palm-thatch roofs. It consists of a Cozy Bar & lounge area with cushioned, bench-seated nooks, a perfect place to relax before dinner. The adjoining dining room is where meals are served, with an expansive view of the lake. Food is delicious and wholesome. The cuisine combines organic and seasonal produce from the best local producers with only essentials imported. All our meals are freshly prepared and homemade, including bread and ice cream. The chefs hail from the surrounding community and undergo training a few times a year to update their skills and inspire new menus.

Akiba Kibwe | Northern Serengeti

Serengeti National Park is the home of The Great Migration-the largest land based migration on Earth. At any time of year, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra congregate together en masse creating an unsurpassed wildlife spectacle. The dry season from June through October bears witness to the huge herds arriving from the short grass plains where the winds from the Indian Ocean have diminished the grasslands and forced the huge herds towards the north. The Great Migration at this time in the year is in a constant state of flux, moving north then south in a never-ending search for sustenance, finally returning north, arriving at the very edge of the Serengeti/Mara border where crocodile laden rivers establish a deathly corridor to the Mara grasslands.

Akiba Kibwe with its westerly setting, epitomizes the true spirit of a romance under canvas. Each accommodation tent hasuninterrupted views west, sited to maximize the classic African landscape. Dining and relaxing are well taken care of in the separate tents with their billowing fabrics rippling in the African breeze. Menus are individually crafted to take in guest preferences, whilst a selection of southern African wines, beers and soft drinks, compliment the culinary experience. A full bar is always open. Sitting in the very north of the Serengeti National Park, Akiba Kibwe lies directly in the route of the migrating wildebeest and zebra as they head towards the Mara River. Game viewing has a completely different feel to the south with a twist of similarities that compliments both locations. The river creates an exciting backdrop and alternative wildlife haven to the surrounding short grass plains and kopje systems that dot the valleys of the north. Like its sister camp Dulana, Akiba Kibwe activities are all about big game-predator and prey interaction with more than a little theatre thrown in.
