Tautona Lodge is a private game reserve located 5 minutes away from the town of Ghanzi. The lodge is situated in the Kalahari with an abundance of wildlife as well as an extensive variety of bird life. Tautona Lodge offers affordable luxury accommodation to holidaymakers as well as business travelers to the region. The lodge is secluded and tranquil, with water-buck and eland that graze peacefully among the chalets. Xakanaxa Campsite is a group of eight vaguely marked campsites each with their own fireplaces and some with a braai blending into one long camping area along the side of the Okavango Delta. Flush toilets and hot showers are provided, plus there are water taps dotted around the sites. The game is rich and varied and the birdlife is prolific. Elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, impala, hippo, leopard and lion all frequently sighted.

Situated close to the village of Gweta, 290 km from Francistown and 200 km from Maun, this family friendly camp accepts children of all ages. Planet Baobab combines style with comfort while remaining true to its African inspiration.

Accommodation provides different options at all price levels. Traditionally styled, beautifully painted Kalanga Huts with en-suite bathrooms or the shady campsite are a couple of accommodation options available.

The Africantastic ‘shebeen’ style central mess features a tasty bar menu, and when it heats up, cool off in the biggest coolest pool in the Kalahari.

Activities on offer all year round include: guided bush walks; traditional cattle post and village visits; incredibly friendly habituated meerkats; expeditions to Nxai Pan.

During the dry season (25th April to 31st October) activities include quad biking on the saltpans; a sleep out under the magnificent Makgadikgadi night sky. During the wet season (1st November to 24th April) visitors can witness the spectacular zebra and wildebeest migration experience.

The Deception Valley area of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve is where most people start from and was made famous by American researchers Mark and Delia Owens in their book 'Cry of the Kalahari'. Like all campsites in the Central Kalahari the campsites in Deception have pit toilets and bucket showers - no water, you must be completely self-sufficient. The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is one of the world’s largest, at nearly 53,000km2. The feeling of space and sheer freedom is magical – a true wilderness experience. Animals such as gemsbok, hartebeest and springbok are common, and predators are frequently seen.

Camping

Situated in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the camp sites are all set in secluded areas within the reserve with minimal facilities.

Each camp site can be reached with a 4X4 vehicle, travelling mainly on gravel roads through the park. The camp sites offer shade provided by the acacia trees, and a large selection of wildlife, including gemsbok, springbok and wildebeest roaming around 

The only facilities available at some of the camps, include pit latrine toilets, a fire pit and bucket showers. Guest are advised to bring enough fuel, drinking water, tools, spares, and a GPS. There is no support system patrolling the roads with some roads not seeing a vehicle for more than three months at a time. There are no shops except a small shop in Xade and Rakops.

Kwa Nokeng Lodge is conveniently situated at the Martins Drift/Groblers Bridge Border post on the Botswana side. Kwa Nokeng is approximately 350km from Gaborone and 380km from Pretoria. The Lodge is situated on a 11 000 hectare game farm on the banks of the Limpopo River.
