Tubu Tree Camp is situated on the western side of the Jao Concession, a private area bordering Moremi Game Reserve covering an area of 60,000 hectares, in Botswana's Okavango Delta. This camp is built on the western side of a large island called Hunda that has diverse vegetation ranging from dry Kalahari sandveld, through to mopane woodland and riverine forest on the edge of the permanent waterways and floodplains of the Delta.
The camp consists of eight luxurious safari tents built on wooden platforms.Including one family tent, one honeymoon tent and six twins. Each tent has en-suite facilities and an additional outdoor shower for under the stars showering. A dining room, bar and lounge area are linked by raised walkways which provide superb views across the floodplains. The camp also offers a small swimming pool for a refreshing respite from the heat of the day.
Tubu Tree Camp offers both land and water activities, the focus of which depends on the fluctuating levels of the Okavango's floodwater. Game drives are offered throughout the year and led by experienced guides in open sided 4x4 vehicles. These drives are conducted both day and night. When the annual flood arrives (May – late September), boating, fishing and mokoro trips are available. A variety of wildlife can be viewed in this area, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, giraffe, zebra, reedbuck and impala.

Each elevated tent at Tubu Tree offers expansive views across the floodplains and woodlands of Hunda Island. Rebuilt in June 2024, the tents combine classic safari styling with refined contemporary finishes, creating a comfortable and immersive bush retreat.
The spacious suites feature en-suite bathroom facilities, an outdoor shower and a private viewing deck overlooking the surrounding wildlife-rich landscape. From the deck, guests can often observe elephant, buffalo and plains game moving across the open floodplains.
Raised wooden walkways connect the tents to the main dining, lounge and pool areas, enhancing privacy while allowing seamless access throughout the camp. The elevated design maximises both views and airflow, ensuring a light, open atmosphere that remains deeply connected to the surrounding wilderness.
Tubu Tree’s Family Tent is thoughtfully designed to provide both space and privacy for families travelling together. Rebuilt in June 2024, the unit comprises two adjoining tents, each with its own en-suite bathroom and outdoor shower, connected by a shared central lounge area.
The elevated design reflects the same classic safari aesthetic and contemporary comfort as the standard tents, with private viewing decks overlooking the surrounding floodplains and woodlands of Hunda Island. The layout allows parents and children to enjoy separate sleeping areas while sharing a comfortable communal space.
Raised wooden walkways link the Family Tent to the main dining, lounge and pool areas, ensuring seamless access while maintaining privacy and a strong sense of immersion in the bush.
