Located in the Kavango Zambezi Trans Frontier Conservation Area (KAZA), also part of the large Peace Park initiative, Nambwa Lagoon Camp’s setting is on the lagoon side of Nambwa Island.
Five meru style tents perch on the edge of one of the Kwando River’s channels. Each tent is positioned on a wooden platform with en suite bathroom comprised of a shower, basin and toilet. All tents have a viewing deck with vistas over the river and floodplains.
All meals are served at Nambwa Tented Lodge, Nambwa Lagoon Camp’s sister property, which features a viewing deck overlooking the surrounding waterways and an outdoor dining area with a large seated firepit.
Elephants and hippos are frequently seen in the area which is also home to a variety of other water dependent game, and bird life is excellent. Activities offered include game drives, bush walks, boat cruises (water level dependant), cultural village visits and bush breakfasts. All activities are at additional cost.
