Kaingu Safari Lodge is in the central sector of the Kafue National Park on the eastern bank of the Kafue River in the Namwala Game Management area. The lodge is situated on a high plateau, 1200 metres above sea level.
The lodge is environmentally friendly with the architecture of the entire camp and associated buildings designed to blend in and harmonise with the surroundings. Maximum use has been made of existing trees, rocky outcrops and topographical features in its layout and construction, thereby keeping impact to a minimum and maintaining the look and feel of the area.
Accommodation comprises of six luxuriously appointed safari tents set under thatch and placed on raised rosewood platforms overlooking the river. Each unit has en-suite ablution facilities with hot and cold running water, an additional unique outdoor shower and 12 Volt solar lighting. They are carefully positioned to assure privacy, safety and integration with the surrounding vegetation.
The Finfoot family house consists of 2 bedrooms (one queen, one twin), 2 en-suite bathrooms plus outside shower and a central living area opening onto a private deck overlooking the river. It’s a perfect spot for a couple with children, or a small group of friends.
Activities include guided walks, river walks, fishing excursions, river cruises, game viewing, sun downer excursions and specialist birding trips.
Airport Transfer Time: Chunga Airstrip and is a 40 minute drive and boat across the river to camp
