South Luangwa National Park, at the southern end of Africa's Great Rift Valley, is widely regarded as one of the continent's finest wildlife destinations. Shaped by the meandering Luangwa River, its oxbow lagoons, riverine forests and open plains support remarkable concentrations of wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, giraffe, hippo and more than 450 bird species.
