Kasaka River Lodge is a 20 bed luxury en-suite tented camp nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Chiawa Game Management area, 4 km from the Lower Zambezi National Park. This is the only stretch on the 2,700 km course of the Zambezi River where one finds National Parks on both banks of the river: the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia and the famed Mana Pools World Heritage Site in Zimbabwe.
The lodge is situated in a natural bush environment with each chalet secluded amongst the native flora. The grounds feature manicured gardens with a swimming pool overlooking the Zambezi River, as well as a more natural bush area which is connected to the main lodge by overhead walkways to allow the passage of wildlife through the camp. Kasaka's bar and deck area are nestled amongst huge tamarind trees and are the perfect locations for watching the world go by on the river.
Kasaka River Lodge is an ideal setting for guests to relax on leather sun loungers or hammocks to read or relax after the day's activities. The library area offers books of interest related to Africa and its abundant flora and fauna. A variety of board games are available on request. The thatched dining area overlooks the river and dining can also be arranged on the deck for dinner under the stars.
Activities include morning and afternoon wildlife viewing and game drives and boat safaris for wildlife viewing on the magnificent Zambezi River. For honeymooners and special events, Kasaka River Lodge offers sunset and sundowner cruises on the Zambezi River as well as private dinners. For adult travellers, fishing safari expeditions on the Zambezi River, walking safaris in the Lower Zambezi National Park and canoeing trips downstream on the Zambezi River are also available.

Kasaka offers an authentic and memorable safari experience set in a natural bush environment. We have two ‘wings’ to the camp - our cultivated ‘tame’ side has beautiful manicured gardens and indigenous plants whilst our natural ‘wild’ side, is set in a more rustic environment and is connected to the main lodge by overhead, wooden walkways to allow for the passage of wildlife within camp.
Our 8 classic tents are large, walk-in style safari tents which accommodate two single beds or one king size. Each has an elegantly furnished en-suite bathroom with flush toilets and powerful, heated showers. Outside verandas create the perfect spot for watching the world go by on the river.
Our honeymoon tent, Wild Mango, is located at the end of the 'wild' side and also benefits from a secluded extended deck and outdoor bath. The perfect place for viewing game on the banks of the river under the African sky.
Kasaka is proud to offer our guests a luxury family home, ideal for families or guests wanting an exclusive and private safari experience. Our home is beautifully finished and boasts handpicked furniture bought from local craftsman giving it a unique atmosphere.
Offering two large canvas bedrooms with a lounge connecting them. Both rooms can be set to accommodate either double or twin beds and have en suite bath and shower. Furthermore the lounge can convert to provide extra sleeping space for younger children if needed.
Hippo Pod has its own secluded deck and swimming pool supplied with sun loungers and its own area for private dining where morning coffee and evening meals can be enjoyed whilst overlooking the most spectacular Zambezi River.
Guests can also enjoy the main facilities of the lodge including the bar area, viewing deck, swimming pool and dining area.
