Tafika is the base camp of Remote Africa Safaris, situated just outside the Nsefu Sector of the South Park it boasts some of the finest leopard viewing in Zambia. The leopard-sighting opportunities combined with the unusual and exhilarating safari activities, and the camp's family-friendly atmosphere, make Tafika Camp the perfect first stop in any Zambian adventure. The camp is set overlooking the Luangwa River and can be accessed from Mfuwe or Mwnya Airstrip.
Tafika accommodates up to 12 guests in six spacious chalets made of natural reed and wood each under the shade of giant lead wood trees. Each chalet features an en-suite bathroom with open outdoor showers. The main lodge area is built into the trees with a high thatched roof creating a sense of space and coolness throughout the year and features a lounge, bar and dining area. Much of your time is spent outdoors enjoying the vistas across to the Luangwa River and beyond from under the shade of the mature trees around the camp.
The transfer to camp takes approximately 2 hours with the option to fly in high season into Luzuki/Mwanya Airstrip located only 10 minutes from camp.
Tafika offers guided walks and game drives in the South Luangwa as well as a variety of optional extra activities which include mountain bike riding in the GMA (Game Management area) outside the South Luangwa. In addition, a visit to the nearby Mkawanga Village offers a cultural experience for guests to learn the way of life of the local Zambian people. The camp is open from the 16th May to 30th November.
Airport Transfer Time: Approx. 2 Hours from Mfuwe airport to Tafika.

Each thatch chalet has two double sized beds, under-cover veranda, en-suite bathroom with double vanities, flush loos, hot and cold running water and solar powered lighting.
There is one large family chalet offering two bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed, the other with two double beds and a spacious outdoor bathroom. The bathroom includes two covered flush toilets and two showers open to the stars.
This chalet is ideal for guests travelling with children or friends.
The honeymoon chalet has one extra large king bed and a double shower open to the stars.
