Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary is a conservation focussed sanctuary located in Mole Creek, approximately 1hr from Launceston and 1.5hrs from Cradle Mountain.

Established in 1979,Trowunna sits on 85 acres of native Tasmanian habitat and is home to over 35 species of native mammals, birds and reptiles. The Sanctuary houses Australia’s largest and longest running Tasmanian Devil Conservation Breeding Program. It also operates as a rescue, rehabilitation and release facility for injured and orphaned wildlife. Included in the entry price are our daily interactive guided tours with an up-close wombat encounter and Tasmanian devil feeding. Hand feed the friendly free-ranging kangaroos and wallabies and experience the new walk-through Bird of Prey Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre.
