North Luangwa National park is still in its natural pristine state and offer one of the finest wilderness experiences in Zambia. It has only very few roads and only a handful of camps operate in this remote, hard to access corner of the Luangwa Valley. Off the beaten whilst often over used is definitely a fitting description of this untamed area that is visited by few tourists.

It is a wilderness haven for safari purists away from the crowds of its more well-known sister park,, the South Luangwa.

North Luangwa is ideal for the more adventurous traveller who would like to enjoy the freedom to explore the bush on foot. Walking safaris are the prime activity in the park. You will find yourself setting out on foot with a guide and an armed scout and there won’t be another human being or vehicle in sight. The sightings will be all the more special.

For a fantastic Luangwa Valley experience we recommend combining both parks.
