The Pangolin Voyager Houseboat is based on the Chobe River, hosting guests in absolute luxury and comfort as they drift gently on the river through one of the most game rich river regions in Africa.
The houseboat moves regularly between her mooring points on the Chobe River; daily movement of the Pangolin Voyager is dependent on river water levels and wind conditions that may prevail seasonally in which case she does not move. However, with prime emphasis on the specialised river safaris on offer, the custom photographic boats and smaller tender boats accompanying the Pangolin Voyager operate year-round unless extreme weather conditions prevail.
The Voyager is spread over three levels affording plenty of space for up to 10 guests at any one time.
On the lower level the houseboat has five well appointed en-suite cabins with double or twin beds. The cabins have built-in cupboards, a cooling fan and the windows are fitted with mosquito net to allow the gentle breeze from the river and the night time sounds of the Chobe National Park to permeate the rooms.
The middle level is occupied by the lounge and dining area along with a deck at the rear which accommodates the Braai (barbeque).
The upper level hosts a viewing deck equipped with table, chairs and sun loungers perfect for topping up those tans in-between activities and for witnessing the majestic African sunsets in the evenings.
During the day there are a multitude of activities on offer. The Voyager has two custom built photo boats with fully rotating chairs and fitted with state of the art camera mounts. These boats are available all day and are moored alongside should any photographic opportunity present itself as guests drift along the river. There are also several other tender boats for general game viewing, Tiger fishing or for transporting guests to a local fishing village perhaps to meet the locals and learn a bit about their lives along this iconic river.
Please note that cameras and lenses are not available on the houseboat unless guests are attending a workshop. (exclusive use only)
Chobe River / Caprivi
The houseboat is located on the Chobe River, but within Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, requiring guests to check into Namibia for the duration of their stay.
The Chobe experience here is all about being on the river and watching the wildlife congregate at the riverbanks. Guests wanting to game drive in Chobe National Park will need to re-enter Botswana in order to do this, usually at an extra cost.
