Fitzroy Island is a tropical paradise of rainforest and beaches within the calm sheltered waters of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Just 45 minutes by boat from Cairns, Fitzroy Island Resort is an affordable 4 star resort that offers a range of exquisite accommodation including Studios, Suites, Beach Cabins and a Penthouse.
The Resort facilities include a contemporary restaurant, large pool with swim up bar, games room, indoor movie theatre, resort general store, Foxy’s Bar, dive shop and Turtle hospital.
Activities include a water kayaking, snorkelling, paddle boarding and exploring the islands walking trails ranging from an easy walk through the secret garden rainforest or a challenging hike up to the summit – great for taking photos of the magnificent view! Enjoy our complimentary fish feeding twice daily on the Fitzroy Island jetty and the complimentary daily movie screenings.

Located on the ground floor and level 2, our Island Suites are a spacious one-bedroom suite, 71sqm in size. The Island Suite includes a generous balcony. Each suite is air-conditioned with ceiling fans in rooms, Queen Size bed, en suite black marble tiled bathroom, flat screen TV, lounge and dining area, tea and coffee making facilities. Sleeps up to 4 guests (maximum 2 adults). The made-up sofa bed is suitable for up to 2 children only, aged up to 13 years inclusive.

Located on level 3 these Suites boast full Ocean views and are perfect for the honeymoon couple. Spacious one bedroom suite, 71sqm in size. The Welcome Bay Suite includes a generous balcony. Consists of an adjoining Island Suite and Resort Studio Room with a shared common entrance, these rooms are perfect for families or larger groups. These rooms are not interconnected but adjoining with a common breezeway.
The Island Suite features a dining area, balcony, separate bedroom with Queen bed and ensuite bathroom. The adjoining Resort Studio offers Queen or Twin beds and ensuite bathroom. Amenities include air-conditioning, ceiling fans, flat screen TVs, en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities. Enjoy lift access and use of shared guest laundry.

Two bedrooms, generous patio area with outdoor seating and beautiful views across Welcome Bay. 46sqm in size. Cabins feature flat screen TV, tea and coffee facilities. Walk directly from the patio area to the beach. Air-conditioned with ceiling fans, flat screen TV, tea making and a Nespresso coffee machine. Queen size bed and separate bedroom with twin beds. Sleeps up to four guests.

Set amongst the rainforest and moments from the beach, our Butterfly Bungalows are the perfect secluded island hideaway option for couples or families. These 3 star bungalows offer guests a self-contained option away from the resort. The 6 bungalows are aptly named after the butterflies found on Fitzroy Island - Lacewing, Ulysses and Bird Wing to name a few. The Bungalows are separate from the main accommodation and aimed at the budget conscious traveller or “glamper”.
Each stand-alone bungalow offers bedding for maximum of 2 adults and up to 2 children, with a queen bed or king split and bunk beds suitable for children only. Features include a small internal food preparation area with a mini bar fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, plus a covered outdoor deck area with tables and chairs, large Esky and Webber BBQ. Plates, cutlery and basic cooking items are available plus BBQ utensils. Bungalows are serviced weekly; guests can use the resort guest laundry (for a small fee) and a clothesline is provided.
The Penthouse boasts 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; this apartment is truly the jewel in the crown of Fitzroy Island Resorts accommodation.
The Penthouse features a spacious living, dining, and kitchen areas with Nespresso coffee machine. The living area has direct access to the large outdoor balcony with magnificent views over Welcome Bay. Luxurious master bedroom with King Size Bed integrated marble bathroom with a 2 person spa bath and balcony access. The Penthouse is located on the 3rd floor with lift access.
