A bit about Ghanzi
The area was originally settled by the Khoi and the San Bushmen with the first European settlers arriving in 1874. In 1898, 37 white families were settled on 3000 morgen farms around the ghanzi area and many of the original settlers’ descendants still live in Ghanzi today. There are about 200 cattle farms in the area at present. Game farming is a relatively new venture but one that is becoming more popular on the surrounding farms.
