Extending from Auckland to the northernmost tip of New Zealand, the Northland region is home to diverse scenery that includes stunning isolated beaches, rolling farmland and rugged landscapes, presenting tourists with an array of activities such as diving, mountain biking, hiking or simply sightseeing. The area is best experienced on the 800km Twin Coast Discovery Highway which takes visitors to the ancient Kauri forests on the west coast, the Bay of Islands and city of Whangerei in the east, and to Cape Reinga, where the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean collide.
